Many of the people who use our services are worried about the planned changes to financial support available to individuals living with disabilities, including Personal Independence Payments (PIP), that were announced by the Chancellor during the recent Spring Statement. As an organisation, we share those concerns.
Inspire is, as always, determined to serve as a strong, determined voice on this issue. Over the coming months, we will work to:
-
- Find and share accurate information on what this will mean for people in Northern Ireland.
- Engage with elected representatives, at all levels, to highlight the ways in which these new measures will affect our service users and advocate to ensure that any negative impacts are managed and mitigated for everyone in Northern Ireland.
If you are alarmed by or apprehensive about these new proposals, remember that help is available. You are not alone. You can reach out to your support networks or visit communitywellbeing.info, where you will find practical tips on financial wellbeing, staying well and managing worry and anxiety.
