We recently held our second annual service user SummerFest at the beautiful Gosford Forest Park in Markethill and, in spite of a few brief showers, well over 200 attendees had a great time.

This was a chance for volunteers and the people who use our services to come together, connect and enjoy a day in the great outdoors. We had it all: sports, outdoor yoga, inflatable fairground games and music (courtesy of our colleague Colm Keenan’s Hawaiian-shirted alter ego, DJ Colm). We even had a visit from McMullan’s Mobile Farm and its fantastic petting zoo.

When the rain seemed ready to make an appearance, we were all able to head inside and pose for our very busy caricature artist, Mick O’Dell. Along with – of course – tea, coffee, biscuits and even an ice cream or two (thanks to our exclusive SummerFest VIP passes). Some people even brought their own picnics.

We really enjoyed the chance to take part in all the activities, meet old friends and make new ones. We’re so grateful to everyone for coming along, from across Ireland – each person made this event a success once again. We’re already formulating plans to make SummerFest even bigger and even better in 2025. Watch this space…
